I agree that the tag should not be hardcoded. Btw, it should be translated, so in French it should be something like Personnes, not "People". What should work: move all your Person tags under your intended hierarchy and delete the "People" tag. Then a heuristic should kick in and pick this toplevel tag instead. May be I never tested that.
