This appears to be similar to bug 22220 reported against konsole.

The gap between characters when echoing input and the indent where input is echoed seems to suggest a very large character width - regardless of the fact that a small font is selected.

The reason I've reported this as a separate bug is that this problem is only supposed to occur with proportional fonts.  Kdevelop uses proportional fonts and there doesn't appear to be anyway to change that.

konsole_part is not intended to work with variable width fonts. It uses the
KDE-wide fixed font setting so you should look and change the font there.
