I just noticed that OpenOffice has an option to use either Logical or Visual cursor control. Kate uses a system that is similar to OOo's Logical setting. This bug can be solved by either: 1) Changing Kate's cursor control to Visual -or- 2) Making Visual/Logical an option The OOo option can be found in any OOo or LibreOffice application in this menu: Tools -> Options -> Language Settings -> Complex Text Layout Thanks! I know, it's another setting, but I would vote for the OOo way of making it configurable. Perhaps with a small animated dialog the first time a document with RTL is opened asking the user for the default. (Somehow like Apple explains eg the Magic Touchpad in the Systemsettings) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 165397 *** |
