Looking at the Edit menu, I see "Ctrl+T" for "Select All Text", and "Ctrl+A" for "Select All Messages". If you want to swap the shortcuts, or assign other keys, you can change them. indeed. Not a bug. TTBOMK, ctrl-a has always been focus-sensitive. At the very least since KDE 2.x. Changing this behaviour is a not a good idea, imo. At the very least, this should be go through the usability team. If this happened and I didn't notice, then I'm sorry. Given the fact that this can actually lead to data loss, it's even more important not to change this behaviour without _very_ good reason, imo. I won't re-open the bug just so we can play back and forth, but I would appreciate an answer as to the actual _need_ to change this ancient behaviour. If you prefer the KDE mailing lists instead of this bug, that's fine, too. Bug 219662 acutally has many duplicates, i.e. people complained that Ctrl+A did NOT select all messages. |
