Was swithcing between thunderbird and the terminal, when I selected the terminal on the task bar, the task bar itself crashed.  No other applications crashed, and the desktop correctly switched to the terminal window.

the backtrace indicated a crash of the WindowManager (not the taskbar, ie. plasma-desktop)

try to deactivate the lanczos filter, ie. set the scale method to "smooth" in the "advanced" tab of "kcmshell4 kwincompositing"

marking as dupe since with this trace we won't get any further. if it's NOT the lanczos filter, see the dupe for instructions on how to get a usable backtrace using gdb
