I have set Effect for window switching to Cover Switch, the box below it (it is still unlabled!) to Slide and Animation speed to normal. When I switch to another tab and back to the General tab, it is in Oxygen theme with animations enabled visible, that the dropdown boxes get reset to “No effect” and you see the transition back to their configured state.

Only happens with advanced tab, see dupe.
