After some changes, I asked the menu editor to Save and it saved very slowly but restarted when it got to 90% and looped continually until cancelled. I logged out and logged in again and the problem went away. Not only that, the changes I had done the last time I used the editor were implemented. Version 0.8 on KDE Development Platform 4.6.5 Linux wheezy. uname -a gives Linux Phoenicia 3.1.0-1-686-pae #1 SMP Mon Nov 14 08:24:20 UTC 2011 i686 GNU/Linux KDE Frameworks 5.18.0 Qt 5.5.1 (built against 5.5.1) The xcb windowing system I have seen similar issues still present when editing and saving the menu. I was able to kill off some of the configuration files manually from the following folders and recreated; but that is hardly ideal. $HOME/.config/menus/applications-kmenuedit.menu $HOME/.local/share/desktop-directories $HOME/.local/share/applications/ *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 316494 *** |
