- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I highlighted the text, with the mouse, from the end of the file up to the middle of that and then prssed Delete button on my keyboard. The text I removed was a commented VHDL code, the rest of the code is not commented. The file was opened by another program at the same time. The text file is about 400 lines.

 I reopened Kate and tried again to remove the code and it didn't crach (this time I used pressed shift together with the mouse to highlight the code).
