[Comment from a bug triager] The crash is related to the VLC backend. - Does Dragon crash again if you play the video file again with Dolphin ? - What if you play it with the VLC standalone player ? Regards Dragon does crash again if I play the video file launching it from Dolphin. The video works fine if I play it from VLC standalone player. The absolute video that I was trying to play was this, --> http://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/Videos/BehindIE9AllAroundFast/Default.html On Fri, Dec 31, 2010 at 6:28 AM, Dario Andres <andresbajotierra@gmail.com>wrote: > https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=261684 > > > Dario Andres <andresbajotierra@gmail.com> changed: > > What |Removed |Added > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- > CC| |andresbajotierra@gmail.com > , > | |sitter@kde.org > > > > > --- Comment #1 from Dario Andres <andresbajotierra gmail com> 2010-12-31 > 12:28:08 --- > [Comment from a bug triager] > The crash is related to the VLC backend. > - Does Dragon crash again if you play the video file again with Dolphin ? > - What if you play it with the VLC standalone player ? > Regards > > -- > Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email > ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- > You reported the bug. > [Comment from a bug triager] I downloaded the video but I couldn't reproduce the crash when I open the video file with Dragon (from Dolphin) using Phonon-VLC 0.3.1 and VLC 1.1.5 (KDE SC 4.5.4) - What is the version of your Phonon-VLC package ? Regards The version installed is 0.2-2010081801.1 I have installed VLC from the VLC repository here: http://download.videolan.org/pub/videolan/vlc/SuSE/Factory/ There has been a lot of improvement gone into 0.3 WRT reliability, it would be very cool if you could try with phonon-backend-vlc 0.3.1 :) At first glance this looks like a bit of an X threading problem. *** Bug 275264 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** At least bug 275264 happens with 0.4.0. I get the following debug output: MKV/Ebml Parser: m_el[mi_level] == NULL MKV/Ebml Parser: Up cannot escape itself [0x7f50f8003988] stream_out_smem stream out error: Smem does only support raw audio format KCrash: Application 'dragon' crashing... VLC konnte die Datei nicht lesen = VLC could not read the file Einlesen der Datei fehlgeschlagen = failed at reading the file This appears to be a VLC problem really. <j-b> [0x7f50f8003988] stream_out_smem stream out error: Smem does only support raw <j-b> audio format <j-b> seems to be the cause Please report a bug in VLC. thank you. I thought that at first, too. But when I try to play a file without sound, I do not get "stream_out_smem stream out error: Smem does only support raw audio format" - dragonplayer still crashes and gives "xcb_window window error: bad X11 window", though. Playing the same file in Konqueror or Dolphin's preview window works... Created attachment 62201 [details]
