Description Kai Uwe Broulik 2010-12-25 01:41:21 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.90)
OS: Linux

When changing activities using the Meta+Tab shortcut, there is no transition of the background picture. This looks bad. Add a transition.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Unfortunately, this is rather unlikely to happen for the foreseeable future, due to technical limitations.

That is, it is not about only changing the wallpaper but the whole Plasma::Containment. Maybe it will be easier in Plasma2.
Comment 2 Kai Uwe Broulik 2012-03-21 17:46:06 UTC
When the wallpaper becomse redirectable (see Plans For World Domination By Compositing in KWin Community wiki) in some far future then maybe :)
Comment 3 Ivan Čukić 2012-03-21 18:45:58 UTC
It is not a wallpaper issue - we do fades in plasma when you change it - the problem are the applets, and everything else in plasma :)

Hello!

This feature request was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this feature request is already implemented in Plasma 5, or is no longer applicable.

Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this feature request. If the requested feature is still desired but not implemented in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting

If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging

Thanks for your understanding!

Nate Graham
