Description bluescreenavenger 2010-12-09 06:03:30 UTC
Version: 4.2.0 (using KDE 4.5.80)
OS: Linux

Currently in KDE, There is no graphical option to change the hostname (or the domain name) of the computer.

I think this would be a good feature for users, instead of having them edit /etc/hostname. The KCM would have to use PolicyKit, and prompt the user to reboot once they change the hostname.

I only suggest that this needs to be in a new KCM, because I don't think this fits in "network connections" "proxy" "connection preferences" or "service discovery" in the network category.

Reproducible: Didn't try

I think we could also add it to the system info page, like GNOME does it.
