The menu item "Switch User" in old-style mode is called "Start in parallel on behalf of another user" and the inscription does not fit in length and cut, a hint for the item "Switch User" they are obviously confused in some places

But Kickoff style mode it's fine

Toggle "Menu to launch applications" from kiсkoff style menu in the old-style menu

In KDE 4.6 beta2 this bug fixed when porting this patch to a branch 4.5.х?

yes indeed in kde 4.6.40 (4.7 >= 20101222)i cannot reproduce the bug.

but in kde-4.5.4 i can reproduce.

i am now compiling kde-4.5.5 i will reply again informing you if the bug is fixed.

The commit is only in 4.6 branch. And the favorites menu is not fixed yet.

Try adding "KNetWalk" to the Favorites menu. Even when set to "Names only", the Favorites menu (in classic mode) says "Network Construction Game", which clearly is the description instead of the name.

Same for non-games, too, such as "Virtual Keyboard" instead of just "xvkbd". It also seems to use the .desktop file name, I get "konqbrowser" instead of "Konqueror".

From what I can see, the commit for bug 249501 fixed the issue mentioned in comment #17 (at least for my usecase of only showing names). If you are still seeing name/description problems with KDE 4.7.3, please add a comment or reopen.
