I am sorry - but this bug is underspecified so far:

I have been travelling and tried to do mails meanwhile. Unfortunately I often lost my internet connection (t-mobile sucks). KMail did not tell me the connection-state. It seemed to me to be not always able to reconnect after the N900 found another UMTS spot again. Behaviour seemed to get worse over time. After some time I had to switch of my phone, because KMail wouldnt reconnect at all. After reboot it seemed to be initially better again - but then quickly getting worse again.

Unconfirmed side effect: it seems that I somehow lost mails during this connect / no connect odysee, but sorry: I cannot provide further info on how to reproduce that.

Tested with experimantal 20100917.1177596

Reproducible: Didn't try

Did you try to do manually snycs? Did you try to restart kmail (without rebooting?). The issue sounds slightly familar to me, however usually restarting kmail-mobile does the job for me.

I've reported more detailled steps to reproduce part of what happened to you.

See bugs:
* Bug #252178 - No error message when trying to display emails while 'Enable Disconnected Mode' unchecked
* Bug #252185 - Imap sync impossible after loosing internet connexion (Disconnected mode unchecked)

I hope they help ;o)
