Description René Serral 2010-09-20 12:43:15 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.1)
OS: Linux

On KDE version 4.4 when you hover the mouse over a directory in the folderview you get a subwindow with the folder contents.

After upgrading to 4.5 from sources on the SVN this behaviour disappeared. Some days ago I realized looking at screenshots that in the new version you have an small arrow besides the folder, which actually does the same action.

My issue is that this icon is not appearing on my system. I tried removing all plasma config files and it does not appear (I can click on the empty space and the folder contents appear....)

I tried to create a new user and the icon appears, so it seems any kind of corruption on my config files. Which files must I change to get the icon on the folderview?

Thanks!

Reproducible: Always

what desktop theme are you using with the user that it doesn't show up for?

Thanks for your fast response.

Currently I'm using Elegance, but in the past I tried several others with the same effect.

Have you tried Air?
Comment 4 René Serral 2010-10-13 10:55:59 UTC
Mmmm, it works. I'm sure I tried before without success... Anyway shouldn't this be enabled with all the themes?

Thanks all the same

Not all themes yet have adapted to the meet the new requirements. But you can copy the appropriate action-overlays.svgz from Air (default) into the widgets folder of your favorite theme.
Comment 6 Janet 2010-11-23 05:58:14 UTC
BTW: It does work even without the additional icon. It's just a little harder to catch the point you have to click without seeing it.

Merging with bug 253968. Read bug 253968 comment 2.
Thanks
