NOTE: This is related to bug #21988

MS OutLook and family send "ms-tnef" attachments.  These are broken MIME encoded attachments that hold formatting information and what other email programs think of as attachments.  

The formating info is a waste but if you want to get the doc and xls files that your MS using co-worker mails you then you need to decode the attachment.

I found tnef (CLI app) and fentun (X app) which can both decode these files however it is a manual process and I am never certain if there is any real attachment in the thing.

REQUEST:  I would like to have a method of automatically piping attachments through a user defined decoder.  (This might be handy for automating pgp or other decoding as well.)

You can do that with filters ("filter app").
