"Fixed" by the fallback code added to KDialog yesterday. In 4:4.5~20101013.1185418-1maemo1.1185177 , the input dialog looks good, but I do not see the signature in the composer view. Layout issues are gone, thus closin. Other issues partly persists, like https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=248559 . Indeed this is corrected now. The Input Field from the Signature tab ('Edit Identity' dialogue) is a lot bigger now: even with the html options on, there is still room for at least 3 lines to be visible without moving the cursor down.
