(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: kmail
Version: 1.2 (using KDE 2.1.1 )
Severity: wishlist
Installed from: Debian Package 4:2.1.1-9 (testing/unstable)
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.4 20010319 (Debian prerelease)
OS: Linux 2.4.4-pre3 i686
OS/Compiler notes:

I know it's cheeky (two wishlist requests in
two days) but I've just switched to KMail
and these things tend to strike you all at
once.

I think the aesthetics of launching an
external editor are a bit odd at the moment;
a slightly better approach might be to have
composer launch in a special "external editor"
mode which only has the dialog for selecting
identity and subject/to/cc etc while at the
same time the external editor starts up with
the text. KNode could benefit from this
approach too I think.
