When I try to send the mails, the mails just stay in theoutnbox and are not sent.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a composer.
2. Enter text, subject, To-address.
3. Press on send.

Actual Results:  
The mail stay in the outbox. and is not sent.

Expected Results:  
The mail is sent.

I had the same problem and it was solved after reviewing asigned folders on Kmail configuration->Identities->Modify->Advance Tab.

Could someone please reopen? Where is this fixed and how? "Reviewing the assigned folders" is hardly a proper bug resolution, as I have reviewed them, set them to sth sane and it still doesn't work.

This is KMail 4.7 on KDE 4.7.0 from Kubuntu PPA experimental for Kubuntu 11.04.

Stephan, I believe this was a defect that was within the codebase last year,
especially during an intensive time of development. This has been fixed in the codebase for long. Most problems with sending email now will be much more specific. I try to adapt the title better so that this report is not found as often.

For you I recommend to first report the issue to your GNU distribution and packagers to exclude problems there. Once packaging and setup issues are rules out, a report here in a new issue is really appreciated!

Thanks Bernhard for getting back on this.
The actual bug has vanished in the meantime, just when I had set up a clean VM with a fresh install and started to compare things in the logs from akonadiconsole :-)

What seems to have helped was a "akonadictl restart", I might not have restarted my box with the upgraded setup.
