After changing to a new theme on kdm and reboot, I had a black screen before login and a bug window. It said to me kdm crash with this details :
executable : kdm_greet
signal : 8 (floating point exception).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Don't know if it will happen every time, but I tried two times and it happen !

I simply change the theme in systemsettings to "kdm4-lines", found on kde-look.org, then I reboot.

Actual Results:  
black screen and no possibility to login on a kde session

Expected Results:  
the kdm login screen with the expected theme should appear.

This bug appears for release kdm 4.4.92 build on Gentoo (kde overlay) with the following :

USE="consolekit handbook (multilib) pam (-aqua) -debug (-kdeenablefinal) (-kdeprefix) -kerberos" 
CFLAGS="-O2 -pipe -march=native -fomit-frame-pointer"
CXXFLAGS="-O2 -pipe -march=native -fomit-frame-pointer"

I have a pentium dual-core cpu.

most likely a dupe. you may have installed the theme incorrectly or you are trying to use a theme for kde 3.
a proper backtrace would be more useful, though ...
