I can confirm the problem with N900 tag 20100730.
There is a workaround to enable the configuration by selecting 
the the checkbox and then using the down arrow you sometimes get
the "Create and configure' to be activated.

Fixed in trunk with revision 1162647.

Confirmed to be gone in 4:4.5~20100827.1168757-1maemo1.1169941 .
