+1 This is a feature that KDE could really use! +1 Much easier than opening another dolphin window in root. Resetting assignee to default as per bug #305719 I propose this to be an extra mile bug. I would like to add that showing the KAuth-dialog should also apply to other situations when the user lacks the sufficent rights to perform a file operation. e.g. when he attempts to change the rights on a file. *** Bug 183626 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** I agree that this would be a nice feature! We just need a volunteer who implements it. The place where this needs to be implemented is probably kio or lib/konq. About the 'extra mile' idea: I think that one of the requirements listed on the 'extra mile' page is 'easy to fix' - I'm not quite sure if that is the case here. Not in Dolphin's source itself? > About the 'extra mile' idea: I think that one of the requirements listed on > the 'extra mile' page is 'easy to fix' - I'm not quite sure if that is the > case here. Those libraries are maintained by David Faure, maybe you should discuss this issue with him before making any intrusive changes. Any update on this? (In reply to Arjun AK from comment #10) > Any update on this? None that I know of. Any update on this? (In reply to bluescreen_avenger from comment #12) > Any update on this? Sorry, but I am not aware of anyone who works on this or is intending to work seriously on this. In any case, since all the relevant code is in the KIO framework now (lib/konq does not exist any more in KDE Frameworks 5, all its code has been moved to KIO), it should be assigned to KIO, but I just remembered that a KIO report about this issue exists already, so I'll mark this report as a duplicate. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 179289 *** |
