Mouseover on a contact gives a pops up a passive notification balloon with contacts detailed status. If contact has a URL in his status message then that is not clickable. It will be so nice that those links are made clickable as it is very common to put a URL in status message.

If not clickable then at least option to select and copy will also do. It is very annoying to type in link manually from someone's status message.

Well, since this is a popup that only appears when you hover the contact, it would be contradicting if it would stay once you remove the mouse from the contact.
But of course you are right and there should be an option to click a link in a status.
Maybe when you open up a chat window, every time the contact changes its status, it should be displayed in the chat window...
