Could you attach a dump of the network traffic? What IMAP server are you trying to use (not address but software)? Created attachment 42495 [details]

imap server is dovecot Unfortunately the dump is of an SSL/TLS connection, could you do the same but with a plain IMAP connection (no encryption)? After a dist-upgrade, i can't reproduce it any longer. It looks like the mail-server restart, changing the configuration and reverting to the default configuration fixed my problem. So i think it can be closed, because it's obviously not a kmail/kdepim problem. If something like that occurs again, I'll mail you the unencrypted network dump.
