I have noticed the following: I didn't removed the file ~/.kde4/share/config/kstarsrc, but just removed ~/.kde4/share/apps/kstars folder. So, that is why KStars, obviously, never thought it was a first run. Also, I searched at https://build.opensuse.org/ for a recent package and I installed the following version 4.3.5-3.27 from the repository http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/STABLE:/Desktop/openSUSE_11.2/ (I add this repository to YaST to care any dependency needed that would be provided by the repository itself). The first run was right, but the subsequent runs crash. It's fixed in all 4.4 branches. There is workaround for this bug. You could change city name to something shorter. I had hoped that upgrading to 4.3.5 would solve this problem, but it is not. I erased the configuration data of kstars (its settings) stored in my personal home, and it is useful: nor even makes the first run. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Execute kstars, follow the suggestions dialog. 2.When updating the components of KStars, Kstars will complaint for a path not found (as I can not make KStars run again after erase it settings files, so the applications thinks that the next run will be the first one, and I was not aware that the execution of KStars could be problematic, I did not take note of that then, because I thought I would have a second chance). Quit the application. 3.Re-run it and kstars will crash after showing the splash screen every time be run next, even if the user erased kstars settings. Actual Results: Since KStars 4.3.1, the execution crashes. The 4.3.5 update does not fixes this issue. Expected Results: KStars run. Thank you.
