command line start of dolphin by SU
This is the text produced by the 'file protocol died . . .' message. It is dolphin started and stopped. When I closed dolphin, the terminal did not return to the command line prompt.

command line text from a crashed konqueror run as SU
This is to show that both dolphin and konqueror suffered the same fate.
Hope these help. Thanks. - Do they work if you launch them as "sudo dbus-launch dolphin" ? Regards Thank You for the quick reply and the suggestion. I can confirm that both dolphin and konqueror open, display files and run properly as SU with NO crashes when using your suggestion. How can I make this more permanent or am I pushing my luck? Added information I added your suggestion to an icon application command line but both konqueror and dolphin crashed. The file icons displayed, no error message shown, but whenever I tried to change directories they crashed. Locked up tighter than a drum. I used "kdesudo dbus-launch dolphin" (and . . . konqueror) Hope this helps. "kdesu dolphin" works well for me in KDE SC 4.8 beta1. |
