I confirm the same behaviour with KDE 4.4.1 on Arch Linux. Even the preview doesn't change while browsing images in 'Virus' mode. I wonder if this is the same bug than https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=227140 but this should be fixed in 4.4.1. it works on my 4.4 branch build. Luca can you recheck that you have indeed 4.4.1 and not 4.4.0? Is the Apply button active in Virus mode? (In reply to comment #2) > Luca can you recheck that you have indeed 4.4.1 and not 4.4.0? Is the Apply > button active in Virus mode? I've just re-checked: My version is 4.4.1, Arch's package manager confirms, too : extra/kdeplasma-addons-wallpapers-virus 4.4.1-1 For "Apply button", here are some details: 1) I open background settings: - Apply is INACTIVE - The default image is selected - Preview shows the default image, accordingly 2) I select another image: - Apply goes ACTIVE - The new image is selected - Preview still shows the old image, but DOESN'T restart (this may indicate the source of the problem, in my opinion) 3) I hit apply: - Apply goes INACTIVE - Preview still goes on (without restarting, like in #2) - The background animation starts over, but with the same image (It's the first bug report in my life .. Sorry if it's not good) I don't confirm, it works on my 4.4.2. I fixed this as I said and it works now as expected. Luca please check on 4.4.2. strange, here i have some serious problems with the wallpaper selection with 4.4.2. but if it closed for you, it's probably a package bug. I reinstall this computer anyway over the weekend, then i'll check back Works here. I know now from where the confusion comes from. The standard wallpaper plugin uses a single click to select the wallpaper. The virus wallpaper needs a double click. No idea why that is so, and currently i have no working svn checkout to correct the bug... Beat Wolf I don't see this single click/double click problem nor in trunk or in branch. This still happens on Debian 8 with default KDE desktop. Single-clicking to highlight the new image and then clicking Apply has no effect; you must double-click before Applying. |
