What I was doing when the application crashed:
Both Kaffeine (using Xine) and Kmplayer crash upon trying to play a DVD. It can be opened fine with Dolphin. The Medibuntu libdvdcss is installed and worked fine under a previous Ubuntu release.

Just to check that this is not a Phonon/KDE problem, could you try this ?
- Try opening the DVD using "xine-ui" or  "gxine", "mplayer" or "smplayer" 
If those applications crash/close too, then this should be problably reported upstream.
