Version:            (using KDE 4.4.0)
Compiler:          gcc 4.4.1 
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    openSUSE RPMs

On KDE 4.3 and before, Kate would allow you to automatically put brackets/parentheses around selected text when the 'Auto brackets' option was enabled. After I upgraded to KDE 4.4 this doesn't work anymore. Instead, the selected text will be replaced by a opening and closing parentheses.

just got fixed for 4.4.1 and above.
