Version:            (using KDE 4.4.0)
Installed from:    openSUSE RPMs

While increasing the panel size icons on the panel grow in size, but after some moment they become very small and do not increase anymore.

Is it intended behaviour? if so, why for and how can I disable it?

Very same thing for me after upgrading to 4.4.0. All was fine in 4.3.5. Should be fairly easy to reproduce by just increasing the width of a panel that has some icons in it.
