there is another pb it's no handy to select the picture or movie thne go to "picture" menu then select "sendimage" it would be a good thing to have ameny entry in the contextual menu of the picture or movie I vote to support this important feature with new Send by Mail tool from digiKam core introduced with next 5.7.0 release. The transcode video operation will be easy to implement since we support QtAV framework based on FFMPEG. Gilles Caulier digikam 6.0.0 wish still there As we depend now of ffmpeg directly, this king of video converter is possible, more and less easily.
