I did tell you in the Mandriva bug report that the strange drawings on the panel are not a bug, they're part of the new Air plasma theme.

The actual bug here, is that the panel turns black with some heights; the default height is OK. Now this bug is only seen after a log out > log in, i.e. only when the plasma svg stuff are loaded from the cache in /var/tmp/kdecache-<user name>/kpc. Quitting plasma, deleting the cache then starting plasma again and the panel isn't black.

I reproduced this bug in a vbox install, so it's not specific to nvidia cards. This is with KDE4.3.98 in Mandriva cooker.

Attached below is the kpc folder from the cache, in case it's useful.

now i am sure

this pb occurs when unchecking "activate desktop effects" in "desktop effects" in desktop settings
then
apply
then
closing-opening kde session one time
then
this pb si there definitively

no pb when "activate desktop effects" is checked and applied

It happens with no desktop effects enabled at all, as I said, it happened in a vbox install, where I don't have any desktop effects enabled at all.

amazing experiment

2010.0 + kde 4.4.0

no colour pb

i assume this is a Mandriva pb
Comment 7 Ahmad Samir 2010-02-15 16:36:59 UTC
So you have *Mandriva* 2010.0 with kde4.4 and you don't see the problem so now it's a Mandriva problem??
Comment 8 Ahmad Samir 2010-02-15 16:42:35 UTC
Sorry, fat fingered the commit button.

Did you try changing the height of the panel to different heights (after an initial log out > log in)? I see the problem at certain heights only.

The Dark/black panel problem could be related to bug 224666 and bug 226652, could you check them ?
