After restarting application sound was not working, but the rest seamed to be fine. After rebooting KDE (I'm using Ubuntu 9.10) believes that the sound devices "Audigy SE" for capture and output have been removed.

Application: kaffeine-xbu (1.0-svn3 1.1.18.1)
KDE Platform Version: 4.4.4 (KDE 4.4.4)
Qt Version: 4.6.3
Operating System: Linux 2.6.34-12-default i686
Distribution: "openSUSE 11.3 (i586)"

-- Information about the crash:
Kaffeine crashs after i start the DVB-T stream.
My TV Card is a K-World/Vstream XPert DVB-T with cx22702.
I use the Codecs from the Packman Repo´s.
The crash can be reproduced every time.

Then I remove the rpm from 11.3 Distribution and use the rpm from the 11.2 Distri, it´s the same, Kaffeine crash after 1 sec play from the DVB-T Card and from any file.

Streams in the Firefox Browser works fine.

strange crash (likely a bug in xine-lib) - it happens for many distributions, it is reliably reproducable for some people (but doesn't happen at all for me = amd64 debian testing = also using xine 1.1.18.1).
a workaround might be to disable deinterlacing (through the menu or by pressing "i"), there's not much I can do against this right now ...

New crash information added by DrKonqi

kaffeine-xbu (1.2.2 1.1.19) on KDE Platform 4.6.5 (4.6.5) "release 8" using Qt 4.7.3

- What I was doing when the application crashed:
Just opend Kaffeine and klicked "Play DVD" - after that, Kaffeine is still open, but the crash-report poped up with the following backtrace... this happens always when I try to play a DVD - GMPlayer works fine here - so it's not hardware related. Phonon is configured to prefere gstreamer.

It happens with different DVDs - so it's not DVD related either :)

I submitted Bug #289210 yesterday, which was marked as a duplicate of this Bug. Per Christoph's comment above, I confirmed that disabling the "Deinterlace" option under the "Playback \ Video" menu entry resolved my error when opening FLV videos. I apologize for not recognizing that my issue was related to this bug because its title mentioned watching TV. :-)

Any news?
I have reports about this at
https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1934 and
https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4550

I can't reproduce myself, because I don't have dvb hardware.

Comment 53 Mauro Carvalho Chehab 2016-06-06 01:46:34 UTC
Kaffeine, up to version 1.2.x, uses the libxine backend. Since version 1.3.x we're using libVLC with is more modern and has been actively maintained.

As this bug was opened to an old version, I'm closing this bug. If you notice it on Kaffeine version 2.0.1, please re-open.
