Description Peter Albrecht 2009-11-23 21:43:00 UTC
Version: 2.3.1 (using KDE 4.3.1)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

As written in Bug#158324, some people use gwenview to sort/edit/arrange their photos. "External tools" is the must-have-feature for this task to be made! Without them I have to dolphin and it's service menus, which is not that much fun as gwenview 1.4.2 was.

Please do so, I used to call external applications to do all sorts of stuff for managing my pictures from within gwenview. With the loss of this functionality I had to resort to having an command line available at all time and errors in handling creep in!

Should be fixed, isn't it?
Comment 3 Peter Albrecht 2013-07-15 19:44:35 UTC
As of KDE 4.10.3, this wish is not fixed: Neither can I find a place to configure "external tools", nor can find a way to call "external tools". So I dare to reopen this wish.

In the meantime, I have switched to manage my photos with digiKam, so this wish is no more important for me. But digiKam encountered a very similar wish: See bug #88932

There's a Plugins menu and external tools should show up there now.
