In Konqueror 3.5.x there were two buttons, "Next" and "Previous" in Gwenview KPart, which allowed quick image navigation. In Konqueror 4.x, they are no more. They are still present in Gwenview itself.

Not a Konqueror issue. It is the KPart that decided what to GUI items to show when embedded.
