I can't reproduce here but maybe I got wrong what you were doing. I opened a terminal emulator using the menu while browsing a directory using Konqueror (using Settings/Show Terminal Emulator). Then I typed "exit" in the terminal emulator. Is that what you did, or is there more to it? Are you able to reproduce it if you do it again? This is likely to be bug 184604.
