Are you using "Save as" or "Save copy as"? If you want a verbatim copy of your document, you are strongly suggested to use the "save copy as" function. I used "Save as". If that's not intended to work for saving files from mails and the web maybe it should be dropped completely and be replaced by "Save copy as"? Whereas "Save copy as" could be named "Save as" because saving a file as something else is saving a copy. So "copy" in the text is redundant IMHO? Oh and yes, "Save copy as" does work.
