Summary: It would probably be a good idea, to: 1. Start the system-tray apps earlier 2. Hide the splashscreen sooner, to give the user the impression of a faster start. Do you have plasmoids which needs a network connection? Not that I know of. Is there some configuration file listing all plasmoids enabled? In the Add Widgets list, (which lists *all of them*), if the remove symbol is show in a row, then you have at least one plasmoid of that type. Ok, I use these plasmoids: - Application Launcher - Battery Monitor - Device Notifier - Digital Clock - Pager - System Tray - Tast Manager I see the same sympthom on a laptop of a friend of mine, but she is running Kubuntu-9.10 beta. Ok, I don't see this issue anymore with kde-4.4.3 |
