Unlike in 3.5.x it is no longer possible to select text inside a textarea or an input field and drag it to some other place inside that same area/field or to any other textarea or input field within the same page. Also, it is not possible to drag and drop text from outside Konq. to textareas or input fields in pages shown by Konq.

Textareas: it is possible to grab selected text but the cursor immediately changes to 'forbidden' and dropping the text anywhere does not do anything (be it inside that same textarea or any other textarea or input field within the same page. In 3.5.x one could either move the selected text in the same area or copy it to other textareas or input fields (by dragging and dropping). It is, however, possible to drag this selected text to other KDE and non-KDE applications and drop it in them, creating a copy of the given text.

Input fields: it is not even possible to grab selected text in input fields, it just deselects the selection and that's it.

Dropping in Konq. from outside source: when dragging selected text from other KDE and non-KDE apps into Konq. textareas or input fields the 'forbidden' cursor is shown and it is not possible to drop it.

Hello Finex, I have actually reviewed bug 152126 before submitting this new bug report. I believe there is at least one thing that bug 152126 does not cover:

Dragging and dropping text within the same textarea - it used to be possible (in 3.x) to grab selected text and drag it to other place within the same textarea or any other input/textarea on the same page. Just like in Kate, for example. This does not work anymore. The same goes for input fields.

It is possible to drag such selected text to other apps. But it should be possible to drag it around the same page and/or textarea/input field.

I'm ready to provide more details and/or explanation if needed. Please, consider reopening this bug or adding these details to bug 152126. Thanks.
