This is a wishlist for ideas reported in bug 202982.

When listening to Internet radio streams with Amarok it would be useful for stream status information to be displayed.

In particular, when streams fail to play, this information would help diagnose the problem.

The status could indicate progress such as:
* DNS lookup success/failure,
* Transport (e.g. TCP socket) connected,
* Receiving data,
* Audio format/codec acceptable

After playback has started on going statistics would also be useful:
* codec being used
* stream properties - e.g. bitrate
* network properties - e.g. buffer fill status, % data missed (for non-TCP streams). This could be displayed as a graph showing required delivery of data (derived from audio bitrate) and rate data was received.

Playback statistics wouldn't be needed very often, so shouldn't appear on the main UI. A separate dialog could be called to show the data, or perhaps a context view applet could be provided for interested users to add to their setups.
