Description Peter Paulsen 2009-07-24 15:28:13 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.96)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

Every time I log into KDE my desktop icons wander up a few pixel (I use the folder view as desktop). After about 5 log-ins the most upper icons disappear under my upper panel and I get a scrollbar at the right desktop side. I select all icons and move them down, the scrollbar vanishes and the games begins once more with the next log-in. It doesn't matter if I set the icons to align to grid or not or lock in place or not.

I guess this is a duplicate of Bug 199028? Or do you treat the wandering of the icons separately from the scollbar that appears?

Install the eventlist plasmoid (http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=107779) and put it onto your desktop. It somehow freezes the wandering icons. But beware, it also freezes the size of your trash widget on the desktop and don't let the taskmanager in the panel expand to full width.

I'll mark this as a duplicate of Bug 185179. I would have marked it as duplicate of Bug 199028 because that bug is about the scrollbar on the desktop but that bug has been marked as a duplicate too.
