Sentry Crash Report:

Description Andreas Pietzowski 2009-06-11 18:37:30 UTC
Version: 1.2.80 (using 4.2.90 (KDE 4.2.90 (KDE 4.3 Beta2)), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.28-11-generic

When you are in a folder with movie files the preview is shown on the right part of dolphin when you mouse-over a icon. But there is no preview visible in the file icon itself. This worked perfectly in KDE 4.2.3. After the update to 4.3 beta2 it is not working anymore.
Comment 1 Peter Penz 2009-06-17 20:20:36 UTC
Thanks for the report. Did you check whether the maximum file size for previews is large enough? The movie previews are not rendered by Dolphin itself, but by a plugin -> if Kubuntu provides an updated package for the plugin, it should (...) also work in KDE 4.3...
Comment 2 Andreas Pietzowski 2009-06-17 22:44:04 UTC
Sorry, it works now. The update disabled a lot of previews I originally had activated in KDE 3.5.

Maybe this is then an update issue or an update bug?
Comment 3 Andreas Pietzowski 2009-06-17 23:24:33 UTC
I have to reopen this issue, because it was not located in dolphin directly bit whenever a file open dialog opens in KDE (which belongs to dolphin I guess) the previews are not visible. E.g. when you want to open a file in dragon player, a directory full of movie files doesn't show any preview in the icon mode. Only the preview in the right sidebar are working.
Comment 4 Peter Penz 2009-06-18 19:11:29 UTC
The file dialog does not belong to Dolphin -> reassigning it to kdelibs...
Comment 5 Andreas Pietzowski 2010-02-12 15:33:04 UTC
Still no video-file-preview-icons in KDE 4.4.0 in the file open dialog.
