This bug is getting stranger. It seems fish isn't completely broken, but just very screwed up and confused.. The reason being, after discussing it on the openSuSE list, it seems that you can ultimately get fish in kde4 to connect if you keep repeatedly trying over-and-over again, it will finally connect. This can take between 3 and 25 times to establish a connection in konqueror. However, once you have gone through the process of repeatedly trying and then finally connecting to a site across the internet, you can then re-connect to that site the next time you try and access it without any problems. However, for all first time connections it is taking between 3-25 times of sitting there in konqueror, issuing the fish://yoursite.com command, having it fail with the message described in my initial report, then issuing the fish command again-and-again until it connects. This doesn't make much sense, but that is what's happening. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 189235 *** |
