When I shrink the width of the middle pane and/or when I add applets the applet buttons in the bottom applet bar of the middle pane shrink so that the text becomes unreadable because it's cut and finally vanishes completely. This gets worse when using the configure button to add or remove applets because the close signs cover the text.

The text of those buttons should always stay readable so you don't have to guess which is which. This could be achieved by using tooltips that show the button text and/or by defining a minimum button width. After this minimum width is reached the buttons could be shown in two or more rows. Also the close sign could instead be available via a button context menu to save space. A combination of all this would be optimal to keep readability. Maybe there are other approaches too I cannot imagine right now.

Better but not perfect nowadays. However, there are also less applets available, so this is less likely to be encountered. I'll see if there's some simple fixes still to be done here.
