May be you also changed your Qt4 version. (font hinting looks a bit different) About the text below icons in toolbars being chopped. Can you test with another widget style (Plastique/Cleanlooks) If I remember correctly, there was a bug report against Oxygen widget style about this issue. Thanks Dario, With Plastique/Cleanlooks it looks better. and yes you are right I also had to change qt version. The one that worked with KDE 4.2.0 was qt-r912655 Newer versions of KDE does not want to work with that version of qt probably because meanwhile compiler in Slackware changed from GCC 4.2.x to 4.3.x. With KDE >= 4.2.1 I was using: qt-r931082 qt-r948357 qt-r964497 but with unsatisfactory results when using Oxygen style regards If this only happens with Oxygen then this is a duplicate of bug 186340.
