I have a problem which seems to stem from the same cause. I open a second pane and point it to an empty folder. Then I mount an iso onto that folder but Dolphin keeps showing the folder as empty. The only way to persuade it to show its contents is by closing and re-opening it. Something similar happens when I see a folder through a link (in a folder view plasmoid i.e.) and the folder is updated by Ark spilling the contents of a gz archive into it. Dolphin keeps showing the previous contents of the folder. Accessing NFS mounted directories (including automounted) is handled in the same way as local file access as far as KIO and Dolphin is concerned; that is, by the 'file' ioslave. The NFS ioslave in kio-extras provides access to remote NFS servers (without the need for mounting) via URLs starting "nfs://host/". Reassigning to frameworks-kio/general. Is this still an issue?
