I can confirm this following the example above and using KDE 4.2.3. If I select the mail adress from within kmail, everything is displayed correctly. The issue persists in KDE 4.3 as well. Having the same problem. It's not a kmail bug because selecting the recip in kmail doesn't generate the same problem. > Having the same problem. It's not a kmail bug

Additionally, if one configures a different default email client (Thunderbird for instance) the bug still occurs. So this is a krunner issue, not a Kmail issue.
This could be an encoding issue. Are you using UTF-8 for the non-Latin characters? Has anyone had the same problem with Spanish and German special glyphs? > Are you using UTF-8 for the non-Latin > characters? Yes. > Has anyone had the same problem with > Spanish and German special glyphs? If you post some names with examples, I will create dummy contacts and check here. I use UTF8 and have some names in my address book containing german special glyphs ("Umlaut"). The example i checked: - surname "Kühn" entered in KRunner - selected the "write email" entry in the results - the then launched kmail message window contains an address line with the mail address and the firstname, as well as a additional "To:" field containing "=?utf-8?q?K=EF=BF=BDhn?=" (the surname) I made a new contact named "Kühn" with a dummy email address. Pasting "Kühn" into krunning showed the name just fine, but the email in Kmail is addressed to "Khn". This problem still exists in KDE SC 4.4.3 (Archlinux). I have my contact names in Greek and when I press Mail to I get ????? ???? as name. I have the same problem. Debian squeeze, kde 4.4.4. I have the same problem (hebrew contacts) , Fedora 15 KDE 4.6.5 Thanks. Is this still valid with KDE 4.8.3 or trunk? I can confirm that the issue is still valid in KDE 4.7.4. Thank you for the information, Dotan, but to repeat my question: anyone who has KDE 4.8.3 who can confirm this? I don't have this problem any more with KDE 4.8.3 (Archlinux). Thank you, Alexis, closing then. |
