Proxy settings from KDE System Settings will only affect KDE (KIO-enabled) applications. As far as I know there is no standarized method/way to set a global proxy. It is up to the distribution to implement this. (OpenSUSE does it AFAIK) You can file a new wish report in this bug tracker to KDE to support the "http_proxy" var. Thanks |
