Thanks for the bug report! I can confirm both issues (that you can't drag&drop a network folder to the Places panel and that opening it from the Places panel does not work when it's been added using the context menu) using an FTP network folder on 4.2.2 and trunk rev. 960022. I'm not sure if these issues are related (if they are not, they should be filed as separate reports) and if they are bugs in Dolphin or in the kioslave, but maybe Peter knows. @Frank: I think we have 2 issues here, which probably are located in the kioslave and kfileplacesview (kdelibs). However I'd suggest to leave the issue assigned to Dolphin until I found some time to analyze this issue. I've added Kevin (= kfileplacesview maintainer) to CC. I can confirm this also with dolphin. When I try to drag&drop my samba network folder to add it to my places, it does not work, but when I right click on a network folder and use option "add to places", it works. I am using Kubuntu Jaunty with kde 4.2.2. Still here in 4.2.91 ... I confirm the two bugs still exist in kde 4.3 :( Same problem here with webdav folders. Kubuntu KDE 4.3.1 I failed to reproduce the "appended name" problem with sftp and ftp folders using KDE SC 4.8 RC2. Drag & drop still does not work. Fixed for me, I can't reproduce anymore with dolphin from kde sc 16.08.1 |
