In a properly configured intrepid or jaunty system, accents do not work in kjots. For example, trying to write "ò" results in "`o". The keyboard configuration (spanish) is working perfectly in all other apps, including kmail or kate.

Well, that is not true anymore. An independently installed jaunty system has also problems in kate and other kde apps. It must be a KDE wide bug. The strange thing is that if you for example write text in kate, at first it works correctly, but after a while it again inputs "`o" instead of "ò".

I am not sure where to report this.
