Description Brendon Higgins 2009-04-08 11:14:27 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

Hi,

I've noticed that sometimes while using the internet the port designation ":80" gets added to the address bar for the site I'm using: e.g. "example.com/page", do something, somehow it then becomes "example.com:80/anotherpage", and it stays like that with the additional unnecessary ":80". I don't think it's the sites I visit (I'm pretty sure I've seen it happen even on Slashdot) and I've never seen it happen in Firefox. I first noticed this in, I think, KDE 4.1, but I haven't worked out what triggers it, though I suspect something to do with posting data, or perhaps page redirection (which sometimes happens after posting data). I'm guessing. It's a silly, annoying quirk.

Peace,
Brendon

I fixed this in trunk (sent a patch to Andreas who polished it, more precisely). r942925. Andreas, should this be backported to 4.2 branch?
I don't see a backport -- but on the other hand I haven't seen this problem on my 4.2.x machine for a while, so I'm a bit confused as to whether it's fixed there or not.
